Mission Statement
To serve the parish and support individuals and families who grieve the death of a loved one
in and through a ministry of prayer, presence and education.
The Bereavement Ministry at the Church of the Little Flower cares for those who have lost a loved one in many ways:
-  A sympathy card is sent at the time of death of a parishioner and remembrance cards are sent periodically throughout the year to the bereaved family contact.
-  A comfort bag is delivered to the bereaved contact which contains: booklets to help with their grief, a card for reflection, information about support group opportunities, and homemade cookies.
-  Families of those who have entered into eternal rest during the past year from our parish are invited to attend the November 2nd All Souls Commemoration of the Dearly Departed Mass of Remembrance.

Bereavement Ministry  team members help with:
- mailings
- phone calls and delivery of comfort bags
- planning the Mass of Remembrance on All Soul's Day in November together with the Pastor
- planning the Blue Christmas Prayer Service in December
- planning the Prayer Service for Loss of a Child in May
- coordinating the support group twice a year which is facilitated by a professional counselor
(publicity, set-up, calendar, printing and distribution of the support group brochures, etc.)
Bereavement Ministry members do not attend the sessions and are not the support group for the bereaved.

The Bereavement Ministry team meets the 2nd Monday of every month September through May from 4:30-5:30pm in the Parish Center Conference Room.

On November 2, 2017, All Souls Day, the Annual Mass of Bereavement was held at Little Flower.  Families brought in pictures of those loved ones whom they had lost. Cick here to see a photo of those pictures.
